Most of PH to experience isolated rain showers due to 'habagat', localized thunderstorms

The entire country will have partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the prevalence of the southwest monsoon, locally called “habagat,” said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Saturday, Aug. 13.

PAGASA said the isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will be more frequent over the western sections of the country.

It advised the public to stay vigilant as flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms, which are often accompanied by sudden heavy rains, lightning, thunder, gusty winds, and sometimes hail.

Moreover, PAGASA said the entire archipelago will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas.
