Metro Manila's Covid-19 positivity rate saw slight increase in past 3 days — OCTA

The Covid-19 positivity rate in Metro Manila had slightly increased over the past three days, OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David said on Saturday, Aug. 13.

However, David pointed out that the trend appears to have plateaued.

In an update posted on Twitter, David noted that Metro Manila’s positivity rate was at 17.9 percent, as of Aug. 11.

“With slight increases over the past three days, it is not yet clear if the positivity rate has already peaked in the NCR (National Capital Region), but the trend line looks flat at the moment,” he said.

Positivity rate refers to the number of individuals who yielded positive results from among those who were tested for Covid-19.

The World Health Organization has recommended that the Covid-19 positivity rate should remain at 5 percent or lower, which would show that the spread of the virus has been contained.
