Mayor Emi's birthday treat -- free flu vax for senior citizens

The Pasay City government conducted flu vaccination for more than 100 senior citizens on Friday, Aug. 12, as part of the week-long gift-giving activity of Mayor Emi Calixto Rubiano who will be celebrating her birthday on Aug. 16.

The mayor said the recipients of the free flu vaccines were senior citizens from Barangays 84, 85, 86, 87 and 90 at the Jose Rizal Elementary School.

Rubiano said the free flu vaccination for senior citizens is a part of her administration’s HELP (Health and housing, Education, economic growth and environment, Livelihood and lifestyle, Peace and order, palengke (market) and pamilya (family) program.

She said the free flu vaccination is also her way of celebrating her birthday with the residents.

The mayor also gave an advanced birthday treat to 280 children at the Star City last Thursday (Aug. 11).

Rubiano said her advanced birthday treat to children was full of fun as they enjoyed the different rides at the Star City.

She said it also gave her enjoyment as she felt “like a kid in celebrating her birthday”.
