Blacklist deals heartbreaker to Omega with two huge comebacks

Blacklist International dealt a huge heartbreaker to Omega Esports anew, pulling off two comeback victories for a clean 2-0 sweep in the MPL Philippines Season 10 at the ICite Auditorium in Libis, Quezon City on Saturday, Aug. 13.

The M3 World Champions displayed poise in the face of two dominant showing from the MSC 2022 second placers. Blacklist patiently waited for Omega to make crucial mistakes and pounced on it to list its second win in the season.

Omega actually had full control of the opening game behind impressive debuts from Kielvj “Kielvj” Hernandez and Deomark “Mikko” Tabangay. The crew looked like they would just walk all over Blacklist, if not for a disastrous Lord dance at the 16-minute mark of the game.

The royal duo of Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario and Jonmar “OhmyV33nus” Villaluna shone on that crucial team fight as the Codebreaker completed a three-man wipe of Omega, allowing them to secure a Luminous Lord.

That practically sealed the deal for Blacklist as they took the first point of the series, 12-10. Salic “Hadji” Imam did most of the damage against the tanky lineup of Omega with 7-2-4 KDA on the Lunox while Wise added a 1-1-7 line on the jungle Akai.

Game 2 saw a repeat of the series opener as Blacklist once again pulled off a reversal against Omega.

Blacklist punished Omega in the final clash after the latter overstayed near the former’s base. Omega took a hit to the guts when Kielvj’s Valentina got picked off in the deciding clash. Omega players tried to retreat but Blacklist, behind the efforts of Edward “Edward” Dapadap’s Benedetta and Wise’s Thamuz, went for the chase ans completed a four-man kill.

The MPL Season 8 champs then went on for one lane push as Mikko’s Selena was the lone hero left to defend the Omega’s base.

OhmyV33nus gave the Estes M3 Blacklist International skin its first win with a 1-2-7 KDA while Edward held the fort during the Omega’s run in the early game with a 2-0-3 line.
