SM security guard commended for returning P79,000, cell phone to owner


CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija - The SM Megacenter Cabanatuan commended a guard named SG Ryan Asuncion for returning a bag owned by a mall goer on Thursday, August 11.

The bag owned by Mary Joyce Rapsing, a resident of Barangay Matawe, Dingalan, Aurora, contained her wallet with cash amounting to P79,735 and a Samsung J7 smart phone.

The bag was recovered at RDU Ramp of SM Megacenter Cabanatuan while conducting a roving inspection around 7 O’clock on Sunday evening of July 17.

The item was immediately turned over to the CRS office for safekeeping.

During the commendation on the early morning guard formation, Francis Nuega, Customer Relations Regional Manager, applauded the good deed shown by Asuncion.

"May this milestone be an inspiration to everyone, to be a man of honor and dedication in serving our beloved SM customers with honesty and malasakit (care),” said Nuega.

“In behalf of SM management and the security agency we are very proud of SG Asuncion," added Nuega.

SG Asuncion, who is from Llanera, Nueva Ecija, has been working as a security guard at SM for almost five years under RJC Corporate Security & Service Inc.

The good deed of Asuncion, who is married to Jamaica Leslie with whom he has one daughter, exemplifies the commitment of SM Megacenter mall guards to SM’s corporate values of honesty and integrity.
