Marcos swears in new gov't execs, ambassador

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. swore in three government officials, including the Philippines' new envoy to Japan.

Marcos administered the oath of office of Aileen Anunciacion Zosa as the new president and chief executive officer of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), Olivia 'Bong' Coo as a new commissioner of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and Mylene Garcia-Albano as the country's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Japan.

The President swore in the new set of government leaders at the MalacaÃ±ang Palace on Aug. 11.

Newly-elected officers of the League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) also took their oath during their courtesy call on Marcos.

During the call, the President emphasized the importance of coordination, communication and cooperation between the local government units and the national government in implementing projects and programs towards growth and development throughout the nation.

In a separate event on the same day, Marcos also received Ambassador of Norway to the Philippines BjÃ¸rn Jahnsen in a farewell call.

During the meeting, their discussion centered on climate change, the Bangsamoro peace process and Norway's plans to bring in more investments to the Philippines, particularly on renewable energy.

Jahnsen was also among the foreign dignitaries who paid a courtesy visit to Marcos last June.
