Caloocan LGU to launch 'Mega Job Fair' on Aug. 16

The Caloocan City government announced on Friday, Aug. 12, that it will launch a “Mega Job Fair” for its residents on Tuesday, Aug. 16.

The job fair will be held at the third floor of SM Grand Central from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. where the residents, including highschool and college graduates, can apply for more than 6,000 local and overseas job vacancies from the city’s 40 partner agencies.

Alam kong marami po tayong kababayan na naghahanap ng trabaho, samantalahin niyo po sana ang pagkakataon na ito at mag-apply sa ating mga katuwang na ahensya at kumpanya (The Mega Job Fair is part of our promise of recovery for you. I know there are many of our people who are looking for a job. Please take advantage of this opportunity and apply with our partner agencies and companies),”Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan said.

Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Officer-in-Charge Violeta Gonzales said the process shall be easier and seamless as the applicants can be hired on-the-spot, similar to its local recruitment activity.

“Mas pinadali na natin ang pag-a-apply para sa ating mga residente at kung ma-meet naman ang mga kwalipikasyon ay maaari rin silang ma-hire on-the-spot. Nais natin na mabigyan ng oportunidad na magkatrabaho ang libo-libo nating mga kababayan alinsunod sa hangarin ni Mayor Along Malapitan (We made it easier for our residents to apply and if they meet the qualifications, they can also be hired on-the-spot. We want thousands of our countrymen to be given the opportunity to work in accordance with the goal of Mayor Along Malapitan),” Gonzales said.

The local government said there will be a “One Stop Shop” for other government offices, including the Social Security System (SSS), Bureau of Internal revenue (BIR), and PhilHealth, among others, during the event which is open to the job-seekers and the general public.

It added that the next “Mega Job Fair” will be held at the Caloocan Sports Complex on Aug. 26.
