40 kgs of shabu worth P272 M seized from two suspects in La Union buy-bust

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – Joint personnel from different law enforcement agencies seized 40 kilograms of shabu worth P272 million during a buy-bust operation on Friday afternoon, August 12, in Ilang Ilang St., Brgy. Poro in this city.

The buy-bust was carried out by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) region 1, National Capital Region (NCR), Police Regional Office 1, Team Navy and other law enforcement units.

Two drug personalities were arrested in the operation conducted at around 12:45 p.m.

They were identified as Romel Leyese, 38 and a certain John Paul.

“Naka-repack sa iba't ibang sachet ang mga nasamsam na iligal na droga (The seized illegal drugs are placed in different sachets),” a source who requested not to be named as he is not authorized to speak, said.

Other recovered evidence were cellular phone, different kinds of identification cards, and assorted documents.
