200 families lose homes in Bacoor fire

BACOOR CITY, Cavite – Some 200 families lost their homes in a fire that razed 50 houses in Tramo, Barangay Maliksi 2 on Friday, August 12.

Bacoor Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office says the fire was reported at 3:42 p.m. and reached the second alarm at 3:58 p.m.

In a Facebook post, the City Government of Bacoor mentioned that 23 firetrucks responded to the fire, including those from nearby cities and municipalities.

The fire was declared under control at 5:34 p.m. and was put out at 6:05 p.m.

Victims are temporarily taking shelter at Maliksi Elementary School.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
