Carpenter arrested in drug buy-bust in Las Piñas

A carpenter, tagged by the police as a high value individual (HVI), was arrested during anti-illegal drug operation conducted by members of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) on Wednesday, Aug. 11.

Col. Jaime Santos, city police chief, identified the suspect as Bernard Caballero, 46.

Santos said Caballero was arrested by SDEU along Exodus St, Camella Classic Homes in Barangay Pilar, Las Piñas City.

The city police chief said SDEU members were able to confiscate from the suspect about 62 grams of shabu worth P421,600.

Santos said the suspect is now detained at the police custodial facility and will be charged for illegal possession of drugs.

He said the recovered shabu was brought to the Southern Police District (SPD) Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.

SPD Director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg lauded the Las Piñas police for the arrest of Caballero.

He said the effort of all police stations in the continuing arrest of drug pushers and users hes led to the SPD being named as the best in Anti-Illegal Drug Operation during the 121st Police Service Anniversary held at the Hinirang Multi-Purpose Hall in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City.

He urged police units to continue their campaign and arrest those who are involved in illegal drug activities.
