25 employees in SM Cauayan and Tuguegarao commended for honesty

CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela -- Twenty five mall employees were commended for honesty during the Joint Tactical Inspection (JTI) and General Assembly of Troops of SM City Cauayan, SM Center Tuguegarao Downtown and SM Retail Group on Thursday, August 11.

Ten guards and 15 personnel from housekeeping of SM City Cauayan and SM Center Tuguegarao Downtown received certificates of commendation from SM.

JTI is an annual event conducted by the Customer Relations Services Department (CSR) of SM spearheaded by Almus Alabe, Senior Assistant Vice President for Customer Relations Services and in collaboration with the Law Enforcement Agencies.

The main objective of the activity is to inspect and check the readiness of the security guards assigned in SM Supermalls, SM Retail Group and its affiliates to ensure the safety of mall goers, employees and tenants.

One of the highlights of the activity was the awarding of commendation to security personnel who exemplified honesty and trustworthiness by returning lost valuables of mall goers.

Some of them had also apprehended thieves in the mall.

The awardees have brought honor and pride not only for themselves but also to the agency that they represent and to the SM Group of Companies.

During the JTI, uniforms and equipment of the security personnel are also inspected to conform to the standards set by the company.

The inspection is not a fault finding activity but more of a corrective measure to ensure that guards are always dressed, equipped and supplied completely by the security providers.

Furthermore, examiners also test the communication device and support gadgets of the security force to ensure that those are always functional and ready to use.

Also, personnel of janitorial services and maintenance services of the mall were evaluated.

Gracing the event was Lt. Col. Sherwin Cuntapay, Chief of Police of Cauayan City Police Office.

Aside from Alabe who led the activity, also present were Rachelle Queenie Dizon-Rodulfo, Senior Assistant VP for Mall-based Business Units and Operations Services; Charleston Tan, Assistant Vice President for SM Retail Security; Ian Ezequiel Balao, Regional Operations Manager for North 2; Ariel Anog, Regional Customer Relations Manager for North 2; Sheila Marie Estabillo, Mall Manager of SM City Cauayan and Mr. Romel Uy, Assistant Mall Manager of SM Center Tuguegarao Downtown.

“I am really very proud of SM's CRS team. The team started as small and expanded this big and up until now, we are still practicing all the SM standards and legacy that Engr. Antolin Paule (pioneer of SM’s CRS Department) left us. Again, I am really proud”, Alabe said in his message.
