NBI arrests 19-year-old online porn seller in Cebu City

CEBU CITY -- A 19-year-old man accused of selling lewd photos and sex videos on social media was arrested in an entrapment operation here on Friday, July 29.

Romilo Romero was handcuffed while transacting with an agent of the National Bureau of Investigation Central Visayas (NBI 7), who posed as customer.

The NBI 7 said that it was last June 2 when the NBI Anti-Human Trafficking Division was informed by its counterpart from the Department of Justice of the suspect’s alleged illegal activities.

The NBI 7 said the suspect used Facebook and Twitter ‘to promote and sell self-produced videos of himself performing sexual acts to his various male victims, some were children.’

The NBI 7 investigation showed that a Twitter account @MarkjasonCj with Twitter name ‘Sex Room Boy 16k’ offered male-to-male sex videos which may be accessed through paid channel or subscription-based portal.

The suspect allegedly charged a subscription fee amounting to at least P200 to access the portals.

The suspect also offered meet-ups in Cebu.

An undercover NBI 7 agent was able to transact with the suspect, who offered a minor during the meet-up.

During the meet-up that took place in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City, the suspect tagged along a teenage boy.

The suspect allegedly offered his companion to the undercover agent for an ‘all around’ performance for P500.

The suspect also showed sexually explicit materials and one of the persons in the video was the boy who was with him during the meet-up.

The suspect was arrested shortly after he accepted the marked money which served as payment for the supposed transaction, the NBI 7 said.
