LOOK: Barzaga shares his throwback photo with FVR

The office of Cavite 4th district (DasmariÃ±as City) Rep. Elpidio Barzaga Jr. has shared a throwback photo of the congressman and the recently departed former President Fidel V. Ramos.

Barzaga's camp said the photo was snapped in 1993. This was Ramos's second year as Philippine president.

It would be five more years before Barzaga would be elected DasmariÃ±as mayor, a position he would occasionally return to after stints in the House of Representatives.

For the eagle-eyed observers, the particular photo shows other politicians--including two incumbent senators--during their younger years.

"We lost a great leader. Coalition-building is the heart of his governance. My deepest condolences and sympathies to the family of former President Fidel V. Ramos," Barzaga said in a message Sunday, July 31 just hours after Ramos's passing.

Ramos, a former army chief-of-staff, was 94.
