'Build, Build, Build' under PBBM to have new name? Cong Johnny is cool with that

For Surigao del Sur 2nd district Rep. Johnny Pimentel, the project name "Build, Build, Build" doesn't matter as long as the actual project will live on under President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s administration.

Reflecting on the promises made by Marcos in his State of the Nation Address (SONA) last last month, Pimentel said, "I'm also pleased also to hear that he will continue to 'Build, Build, Build' project, or it might be called by another acronym."

"But what is important is he will expand the infrastructure project especially in the countryside. We really need that," said the senior Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) member.

Build, Build, Build, or simply BBB, was the flagship infrastructure modernization program of the previous Duterte administration. It promised to usher in a new golden age of infrastructure development in the Philippines.

At least one House member, Albay 2nd district Rep. Joey Salceda, has suggested that BBB take on the new name "Build, Build, More", or BBM--the President’s initials.

As far as infrastructure development is concerned, Pimentel said he was happy to know that Marcos intended to further develop the country’s railway system.

"You know what, in Europe, in other countries, in other developed countries, their means of public transportation is through railways. I think it is about time na dito rin sa Pilipinas (to have that here in the Philippines) kasi palagi ang ating (because usually our) means of transportation is through bus, jeepneys, taxi--we really do not have a means of transportation like in Singapore, in Japan, in other European countries na yung talagang (they really have a) very extensive railway system," he said.

"He mentioned three areas, one is Mindanao which is I'm very happy about that because I'm a Mindanaoan. The other one is north railway which will connect hopefully Bulacan and itong going to Clark," added Pimentel.
