BTS' J-Hope reveals he practiced nearly 6 hours daily for Lollapalooza performance
BTS member J-Hope performed at Lollapalooza in Grant Park, Chicago on July 31 to become the “first South Korean artist to headline a main stage at a major US music festival.”
J-Hope said a V Live broadcast after the show that he performed 19 songs. Among them were “Blue Side,” “Pandora’s Box,” “Safety Zone,” “Baseline,” “What If,” “More,” “Arson” and “Chicken Noodle Soup” with Becky G.
There were about 105,000 spectators at the festival.

“I made it. I'm so overwhelmed as I've been through a lot of things and processes. Thank you, thank you so much,” J-Hope said.
Fellow BTS member Jimin flew to Chicago from South Korea to watch and support J-Hope.
J-Hope revealed that he was thinking if he could perform alone and said he practiced for six hours daily.
“At first I was concerned if I could do it alone. So every day I practiced for almost six hours. As J-Hope of BTS, I can't disgrace our team name,” he said.
Jimin joined him in the live broadcast and told him, “You were so good today.”
J-Hope said he didn’t have appetite since arriving in Chicago. He left South Korea for the US on July 25.
“I had a hard time practicing in Chicago, too. Well, I didn't have any appetite since I came here. I didn't eat a lot,” he said.
J-Hope added, “I didn't know that but I sang 19 songs. It's really good experience for me. I think it's really fun to try it.”
“I want to thank the staff of Lollapalooza who gave me such a good opportunity. And staff who made a lot of effort for me. And Jimin who came all the way here for me. And ARMY, of course,” he said.
He added, “Well, after we come back to Korea, we'll talk about things that we have to do. I love you. I'll go to Korea safely.”
