Muntinlupa's active Covid-19 cases at 108

Muntinlupa City’s active Covid-19 cases slightly rose to 108 amid the detection of more Omicron subvariant cases in the country.

Data from the City Health Office (CHO) showed that Muntinlupa added 32 new Covid-19 cases, 27 recovered patients and zero deaths on July 9 to bring the total active cases to 108 from 103 on July 8.

Of the 108 active cases, 23 are listed in Barangay Cupang, 19 in Tunasan, 18 each in Ayala Alabang and Alabang, 11 in Poblacion, eight in Putatan, seven in Sucat, four in Buli, and two in Bayanan.

Since 2020, Muntinlupa has tallied 40,508 confirmed cases, 39,782 recoveries and 618 deaths as of July 9.

Amid the rise in Covid-19 cases, the Muntinlupa City government reminded the public to follow minimum public health standards including wearing of face masks and urged residents to get vaccinated.

As of July 7, there are 509,405 adults who are fully vaccinated in Muntinlupa, or 115.12 percent of the target population of 442,517 (80 percent of the total population of 553,146).

Of the fully vaccinated, 149,310 individuals have received their first booster shot and 15,706 have gotten their second booster dose.

Among the 12-17 years old, 41,446 have been fully vaccinated, or 73.36 percent of the total population of 56,499. Of the fully vaccinated, 694 got their first booster shot.

In addition, 16,933 minors aged five to 11 are now fully vaccinated, or 24.83 percent of the total population of 68,198.

Meanwhile, the Muntinlupa CHO, through the Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP) of the Department of Health, received 14 units of portable electrocardiogram (ECG) machines.

Dr. Juancho Bunyi, CHO head, said this is part of capacitating the local health units in active case finding and risk assessment procedures in line with the non-communicable disease (lifestyle diseases) protocols particularly those with heart conditions and hypertension.

Muntinlupa residents can avail of free ECG tests in all the health centers in the city in due time.
