Baser Amer has been putting teams to sleep for Blackwater, drilling back-to-back game-winners before going for the now iconic "Night, night" celebration.

But the 6-foot playmaker would rather give the credit to Bossing head coach Ariel Vanguardia and his unwavering faith.

Amer has emerged as one of Blackwater’s best finishers, first on a tough floater to haunt his former team Meralco, 90-89, before drilling a step-back jumper off the same play a week after against Phoenix, 91-89.

On both occasions, Amer was struggling on the field, shooting just 2-of-10 against the Bolts before the dagger floater for a six-point output while he only had nine points against the Fuel Masters on a 3-of-7 clip.

“Grabe talaga ‘yung tiwala ni Coach sa akin. Actually, ang sama ng shooting ko, ang sama ng game ko, pero ‘yung last play, sa akin niya pa rin binigay,” said Amer who also shared that he was being teased by his teammates regarding his celebration which was obviously inspired by Stephen Curry’s celebration in the NBA Finals against Boston.

The pre-game teasing turned out to be prophetic as Amer capped off his clutch display with the same celebration.

“Sabi nung mga teammates ko, biro-biro lang naman, ‘O, baka mag good night ka na naman mamaya, ah. Tumawa lang ako. Nangyari nga kanina,” he shared.

For Vanguardia, however, it was far from being a coincidence as he believes Amer really has the nerves of steel to take and deliver the final shot for the Bossing.

“If you review that last play, ini-step back ni Baser, wide open din yung backdoor ni Rashawn e. Pero, siguro naano siya, baka ma-turnover, open naman ako, tinira niya. Pero that’s the same play,” said Vanguardia.
