K-pop group Aespa releases 'Girls' album: 'We're so happy'
Breakout K-pop girl group Aespa released their second mini-album “Girls” on July 8 with a record-setting total preorders.
“We’re so happy that our new project ‘Girls-The 2nd Mini Album’ is finally out for all of our MYs to hear. With ‘Girls,’ we were able to explore our sound more and tell new stories. We can’t wait to perform and meet our fans in person soon!” said Aespa.

Ahead of the release, the album garnered more than 1.61 million copies in preorders to set the record as the highest number of preorders for a K-pop girl group.
Aespa will also start on July 8 their “Good Morning America's Summer Concert Series” in Central Park in New York City to perform some of their biggest hits and chat with the hosts.
“Girls” has nine tracks with Aespa singing high-octane electro-pop, sentimental ballads, and breezy R&B, like their English-language debut single “Life’s Too Short.”
The album also includes “Black Mamba,” “Dreams Come True” (a 1998 hit from K-pop act S.E.S), “Lingo,” title track “Girls” and “ICU.”
Last July 5, Aespa’s Giselle, Karina, Winter and Ningning graced the opening of the United Nations High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development at the UN General Assembly Hall in New York City. At the forum, they spoke about metaverse and sustainable development.
In April, Aespa performed at the main stage of Coachella in California. The group also delivered an explosive performance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and was the first K-pop act to ever play and sell-out the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles with their “Aespa SYNC Showcase” last week.
