Embalmer accused of rape arrested in Santa Maria, Laguna

LAGUNA – Authorities arrested an embalmer accused of rape in a manhunt operation in Barangay Bagong Pook, Santa Maria on Thursday, July 7.

The Laguna Police Provincial Office identified the accused as Manoling Silang, 39, from Del Gallego, Camarines Sur.

Operatives of the Santa Maria Municipal Police Station (MPS) served the warrant of arrest for consented abduction with rape in relation to the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.

The warrant was issued by the Family Court, Fourth Judicial Region, Branch 16 in Sariaya, Quezon.

The police launched the manhunt operation with the help of the community's Barangay Intelligence Network.

Silang is now under the custody of Santa Maria MPS.
