The "pioneer" scholars were from PSHS - Zamboanga Peninsula Region Campus (PSHS-ZRC). PSHS is an attached agency of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

Among the graduates, Nicolien Rian M. Racho was awarded with highest honors and 31 students with high honors.

Six graduates: Nicolien Rian M. Racho, Swiss Misley B. Sumalpong, Catherine Miranda, Derf Iluminado Nicklaus S. Cainta, Charwina Mae M. Somoso, and Danilo Y. Mamocay, Jr. qualified for admission with 24 scholarships to foreign universities in the United States, Australia, and Germany.

According to Campus Director Engr. Louie Jamora, Pisay provides the best STEM education for the youth of the country and a campus in Dipolog City makes this premier education accessible to the gifted in science and mathematics in Zamboanga Peninsula region as well as the provinces of Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.

“I commend our pioneer batch because they have shown great fortitude, resilience, and perseverance having witnessed and experienced the birth and development of our campus as well as COVID-19 pandemic,” Jamora said.

In 2021 and 2022, PSHS-ZRC students brought honors to the country by winning 118 gold, silver and bronze awards in various international academic competitions, namely Hong Kong International Computational Olympiad (HKICO), Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Big Bay Bei (BBB) Mathematical Olympiad, Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO), Philippine International Mathematical Olympiad (PhIMO), Hong Kong International Math Olympiad (HKIMO), and Hong Kong International Science Olympiad (HKISO).

“I am confident that Pisay-Zamboanga students have what it takes to be successful in their chosen paths as PSHS had set the foundation for life-long learning and prepared them to engage in critical and creative thinking to become agents of change for the betterment of the society,” Jamora said.

PSHS-ZRC, one of the two youngest Pisay campuses, opened its doors to students in August 2016 at Dipolog Sports Complex, Olingan, Dipolog City and transferred to its permanent site in Barangay Cogon, Dipolog City in October 2019.
