Pasay City Mayor Emi: 'We are ready to respond to any disaster'

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the city government is ready to respond to any disaster that may occur as it joined in the celebration of the National Disaster Resilience Month.

Rubiano said that like a Girl Scout working hard to be a responsible leader and to be strong, which are also the characteristics of a loving mother, she is ready with the essential knowledge and skill in responding to any disaster.

She said the city government is ready with the appropriate, well researched, and efficient plan and necessary equipment and vehicles to respond to any disaster that may occur like fire, earthquake, and typhoon.

The mayor said the city government is ready to implement forced evacuation in areas badly hit by a typhoon, enforce a contingency plan in the event of fire and earthquake, conduct massive information and education drive, and start an early warning flag system

Rubiano thanked the city residents for following the EMI habit (ensure to always wash your hand, mask is must and implement physical distancing) that made it possible for the City Health Office (CHO) to record only four active cases of Covid-19.

She said the city government is providing support to the four active Covid-19 patients and their families through nutritious food packs containing five kilos of rice, fruits, vegetables, milk, and ready-to-eat food.
