Carlos Santana collapses on stage during performance in Michigan

Musician Carlos Santana collapsed on stage during a performance in Clarkston, Michigan last Tuesday, July 5.

Santana, 74, passed out due to heat and dehydration, according to his manager Michael Vrionis.

The dailymail.co.uk reported that the iconic guitar player was brought to the emergency department at McLaren Clarkston for observation.

Vrionis said in a statement that Santana "is doing well."

The dailymail.co.uk said: "According to Fox 2, Santana was about 40 minutes into his set playing his song Joy when he fell, and concert organizers subsequently said the show was canceled amid the medical event, and requested fans to pray for him."

"They just told us to leave the venue, but so many are still here, stunned, looking at a near empty stage at Pine Knob, Clarkston ... Santana was about 1 minute into a song he had collaborated with Chris Stapleton," Journalist Jo-Ann Barnas said in a tweet. "Carlos was calling for healing and joy."

On July 6, Santana shared a statement on Facebook to thank his fans for their support and prayers.

Santana is a Mexican-American rock band whose hits include "Evil Ways," "Black Magic Woman," "Oye Como Va," "Smooth," "Maria, Maria," etc.
