Medicines, vitamins distributed to 700 Palawan farmers

Around 700 farmers received vitamins and medicines during the medical mission of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Coron, Palawan.

DAR UndersecretaryVirginia Orogo said the distribution of the vitamins and medicines was implemented under the medical mission project of the department’s foreign-assisted projects office in coordination with the Department of Health (DOH).

Among those distributed were boxes of vitamin C, vitamin B-complex, vitamins in syrup form, multivitamins, mefenamic acid, metoprolol, amoxicillin, amlodipine, losartan, and clotrimazole.

“We don’t stop with awarding lands to landless farmers, we also help them in taking care of their physical welfare,” said Orogo.

She added that they also arranged with the DOH for medical doctors to see the farmers for a free medical checkup.

“The doctors will also give prescriptions should the farmers need them and avail of the medicines that we have provided,” said DAR Assistant Secretary Rene Colocar, for his part.
