Here are the first 10 House bills filed by Sandro

Neophyte congressman, Rep. Sandro Marcos of Ilocos Norte's 1st district has hit the ground running in the House of Representatives.

Rep. Marcos, the eldest son of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., filed a total of 10 House bills last June 30 to kick off the 19th Congress.

His filed measures include House Bill (HB) No.1, or the proposed Government Financial Institutions Unified Initiatives to Distressed Enterprises for Economic Recovery or GUIDE Act.

The bill seeks to allocate P10 billion to two state banks to expand their lending capacities to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and help the latter recover from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Leyte 1st district Rep. Martin Romualdez, who pundits believe is a shoo-in for the House Speakership, is a co-author of HB No.1.

Young and old solons alike pursue the distinction of filing the first bill in any given Congress.

The nine other House measures filed by Rep. Marcos are the following: HB No.3, or the proposed E-Governance Act; HB No.4, or the Internet Transactions Act; HB No.8, or the Free legal assistance for police and soldiers; and HB No.10 , or the creation of the Virology Institute of the Philippines.

Also filed by the Ilocano were HB No.11, or the National Defense Act; HB No.12, or Rightsizing the national government; HB No.14, or the SIM Card Registration Act; HB No.18, or the Government Procurement Act; and HB No.20, or the Apprenticeship bill.

Rep. Marcos was mentored by Romualdez and formerly worked as part of his staff.

Romualdez served as House Majority Leader during the entire 18th Congress.
