The Vietnamese booters showed their fiery form in the second half, particularly at the penalty spot at the expense of Filipino goal keeper Lance Bencio.

Nguyen Quoc Viet easily gave Vietnam a 1-0 edge over the Philippines at the 3rd minute mark before finding the back of the net anew with a swift header at the 48th.

Down 2-0, Sandro Reyes pumped life for the Azkals at the 53rd minute off a long and uncontested goal from the left win but that would be the first and last score for the Filipino booters.

With momentum still on their side, Khuat Van Kang and Nguyen Van Truong netted their respective goals from the penalty area at the 69th and the 79th marks past goalie Bencio.

The Azkals have yet to gain a point as they fell to a 0-2 record alongside Brunei.

They will next face Myanmar on Wednesday, July 6.
