Arellano survives third-set scare, repulses EAC

Arellano survived a third-set scare as it repulsed Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC), 25-21, 25-18, 26-24, Tuesday in NCAA women’s volleyball at the Paco Arena in Manila.

Nicole Sasuman led the Lady Chiefs’ charge with 13 points off 11 kills while Carla Donato and Charmina Dino provided reinforcements with nine points apiece.

Already assured of a Final Four berth, the win improved Arellano’s win-loss tally to 7-1 at second place to further boost its preparations for its upcoming matchup with unbeaten College of St. Benilde Lady Blazers on Saturday.

Down 24-23 in the third, the Lady Chiefs scored three straight points from Sasuman and Dino to halt the Lady Generals’ run.

It was EAC’s sixth loss against two victories, kissing its Final Four bid goodbye.
