Man wanted for rape in Ilocos Sur nabbed in Nueva Vizcaya

CAMP Marcelo A. Adduru, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – A man wanted for rape in Ilocos Sur was arrested in Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya Friday, July 1.

Police identified the suspect as Novel Tindaan Buenafe, 38, of Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya.

Buenafe was arrested by joint tracker teams of the Quirino police led by Lt. Alden Isang, Dupax del Norte police, and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company of Nueva Vizcaya.

The suspect was arrested at around 4:35 p.m. in Parai, Dupax del Norte.

Police said Buenafe is the No. 10 top most wanted person on the provincial level in Nueva Vizcaya.

He was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Emmylou V. Mangasar, acting Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court Branch 25, Tagudin, Ilocos Sur for qualified statutory rape.

No bail was recommended for the suspect's temporary liberty.
