Comelec releases satellite registration schedule in NCR

With the resumption of the voter registration, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has released the schedule of the satellite registration in Metro Manila.

As of July 4, satellite registration in Caloocan City 3rd District will be held at Metro Plaza Mall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting July 6 for Barangay 179 and 180, July 7 for Barangay 181 and 182, July 8 for Barangay 183 and 184, July 9 for Barangay 185 and 186, July 11 for Barangay 187 and 188.

There will also be a special satellite registration for the youth on July 12, while for senior citizens, women and persons with disability (PWD) is on July 13.

Aside from NCR, there will also be satellite registration in Region 4.

The schedule of the satellite registration may be viewed at the official Facebook page of Comelec.

The Comelec earlier asked all Office of Election Officers (OEOs) to conduct satellite registration activities.

The poll body said this is "to ensure wider voter participation, the OEO shall conduct satellite registration of voters within the city/municipality, during the first week of registration period." Satellite registration activities may be held in barangay halls/centers; public and private schools and universities; malls and commercial establishments; and other public and convenient places.

The Comelec said there must be exclusive special satellite registration activities for the youth, senior citizens, women, PWDs, and members of the Indigenous People or Indigenous Cultural Communities.

The poll body has set the voter registration for the Dec 5, 2022 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections from July 4 to 23.
