Fundraising project for Vigan Cathedral rehabilitation launched

A fundraising project has been launched for the rehabilitation of Vigan Cathedral in Ilocos Sur.

Dubbed as "Simbahan ko, mahal ko," the Vigan Cathedral posted about the project Sunday, July 31 on Facebook.

"You may drop your donations at the parish office, or send your cash donations

through our official bank account,"read the post.

"You may drop your donations at the parish office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For monetary donations, you will be issued with an official receipt from our parish staff. For bank transactions, your deposit slip will serve as proof that you donated," it further read.

The Vigan Cathedral was one of the churches damaged by the magnitude 7 earthquake that hit different parts of Luzon last July 27.

Due to this, the Cathedral announced its temporary closure.

"We wait for the pronouncement from the structural engineers that it is safe to use it for our Eucharistic celebrations. Please pray for all BigueÃ±os," the Cathedral said.
