Village dad in Pangasinan arrested for possession of grenade

UMINGAN, Pangasinan – A barangay councilor here was arrested after authorities found a fragmentation grenade in his house in Barangay Del Rosario here Friday, July 29.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) of Pangasinan and the local police implemented a search warrant against the suspect identified only as “Arman,” 46.

Police found one fragmentation grenade and a black belt bag in his house.

The suspect was charged in court in 2019 and 2021.

One of his cases has been dismissed and the other is still pending in court.

Police said the suspect faces complaints lodged in the barangay.

The suspect was taken to the CIDG Pangasinan for documentation and proper disposition.
