PCSO dispatches brand new ambulance to Abra shortly after magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) sent a brand new ambulance to Abra less than 24 hours after a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck the province.

According to PCSO, this was in response to La Paz, Abra Mayor Joseph Bernos's plea to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for a new town ambulance that will help strengthen their disaster response measures.

On July 29, PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles formally turned over the ambulance's key to Danglas Mayor Esther Bernos in the town of Danglas.

It was witnessed by Mayor Bernos of La Paz, Rep. Ching Bernos, and the health workers of Danglas.

Robles also assured the mayors that PCSO is committed to delivering assistance in a simpler and quicker manner in accordance with Marcos' directives in his first State of the Nation Address.

The earthquake, which happened on July 27 at 8:43 a.m., damaged properties and affected 80 percent of Abra’s population as per the provincial government's data.
