Three alleged drug peddlers tagged by police as high-value individuals (HVI) were arrested by members of the Southern Police District-Drug Enforcement Unit (SPD-DEU) after they yielded more than P3.4 million worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation in Parañaque City Friday night, July 29.
SPD director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg identified the suspects as Eduardo Arciaga,47; Mike Chavenia, 24; and Almer Aguiliña Gula,33, all residents of Parañaque City.
Macaraeg said the suspects were arrested around 10:30 p.m. at Puyat Compound, Barangay Tambo in Parañaque City.
The SPD chief said members of the SPD-DEU coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Parañaque Police Sub-Station 2 for the arrest of the three suspects.
Macaraeg said the suspects were tagged as HVIs after police received several complaints about their illegal drug trade.
The police confiscated from the suspects five knot-tied plastic ice bags containing shabu weighing about 505 grams with a total market value of P3.434 million, one black handbag, and a red sling bag.
Macaraeg said the suspects were charged with possession of illegal drugs, while the confiscated shabu was brought to the SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.
