The Philippine women’s national football team has penned more friendlies in the coming months as part of its preparation for the 2023 FIFA World Cup.

Aside from Costa Rica and New Zealand, Jamaica and Uzbekistan have expressed interest to test their gears against the newly crowned AFF Women’s Championship titlist.
Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Nonong Araneta, however, said only Costa Rica is sure to play against the Filipinas twice on its home soil in October while the aforementioned countries are still under arrangements.
“Jamaica wants to come here in November so hopefully we can play Jamaica here in maybe one Asian country – Uzbekistan also wants to play here. So maybe a tri-nation tournament,” said Araneta shortly after the groundbreaking ceremony of the new PFF headquarters in Carmona, Cavite Saturday, July 30.
Costa Rica (World No. 37) and Jamaica (World No. 51) have also qualified to the FIFA World Cup as fourth and third placers, respectively, in the 2022 CONCACAF W Championship while New Zealand (World No. 22) got an automatic berth as host nation.
The Philippines, for its part, is currently ranked No. 53 in the FIFA Women’s World Ranking.
