The shooting incident happened on Sunday afternoon during the graduation of law students in ADMU, where Yumol gunned down Rosita "Rose" Furigay, the former mayor of Lamitan, Basilan; Victor Capistrano, the former mayor's aide; and Jeneven Bandiala, a university security guard.
Yumol was arrested by the QCPD operatives in a dragnet operation along Aurora Boulevard in Quezon City on the same day.

He was indicted by the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office with multiple charges for murder (three counts), frustrated murder, malicious mischief, violations of Republic Act 10591(Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition), and RA 10883 (Anti-Carnapping Law).
