ILOCOS SUR -- A total of 3,284 damaged houses here were reported as of Friday after last Wednesday’s (July 27) magnitude 7 earthquake that hit Northern Luzon.
There are 96 totally damaged houses and 3,201 partially damaged houses, according to the latest report from the Ilocos Sur Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).
One person was reported dead and 103 were injured.
Earlier, Ilocos Sur Police Provincial Office said the lone casualty was an 88-year-old female who was caught in a landslide caused by the earthquake from Sitio Baudan, Barangay Man-atong, Suyo, Ilocos Sur.
About 28,561 families composed of 12,872 persons were affected by the earthquake.
Power lines in 16 municipalities were affected, but five were restored as of Friday.
The estimated cost of infrastructure damage is P50 million and P104,500 in agriculture, the report also said.
All the national roads and bridges are passable to all types of vehicles, except the Tagudin-Cervantes Road K0353+100 and K0353+500 which are still not passable due to major land/rock slides, the Ilocos Sur 2nd District Engineering Office said.
