Three persons were injured after a dump truck rammed into a junk shop along San Mateo Road, Brgy. Batasan Hills in Quezon City on Thursday, July 28.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) identified the victims as Carlo Tinio, 24, from Rizal, the dump truck driver, and his two unidentified female helpers who sustained minor injuries and were immediately given medical attention.
According to the police, Tinio was driving the dump truck along San Mateo road at around 6 a.m. and was heading towards Marikina.
Upon reaching the corner of San Mateo Road and Saret Street, the dump truck suddenly crashed into a junk shop on the side of the road.
S/Sgt. Alfredo Moises III of the QCPD Traffic Enforcement Unit Traffic Sector 5, investigator on case, told Manila Bulletin that the brakes of the dump truck malfunctioned which led to the accident.
The victims sustained minor injuries and were rushed to the East Avenue Medical Center for treatment.
The dump truck remains at the site of the accident.
The incident is still under investigation, Moises said.
