Local telcos remained operational in areas hit by the earthquake with no infrastructure damage detected, so far.
“Our technical teams immediately assessed our network and we found no damage on our infrastructure. Our network is stable," confirmed Globe Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer Yoly Crisanto.
"Customers, emergency workers and local authorities in quake-hit areas may expect reliable connectivity, which is crucial in addressing urgent concerns in the aftermath of this powerful temblor,” she assured.
"While certain areas experienced power outages due to the temblor, commercial power remains available in critical Globe sites," the telco stated.

Similarly, “The services of PLDT and Smart remain operational in the areas affected by the recent magnitude 7.0 earthquake that hit Abra,” announced Cathy Yang, First Vice-President and Group Head of Corporate Communications at PLDT and Smart.
However, “Customers in North and Central Luzon may experience service interruptions due to commercial power failure,” she added.
As of 9pm, July 27, PLDT and Smart Communications, Inc., are offering free call services in quake-hit Vigan.
They set up a Libreng Tawag (Free Call) station at Jose Singson St., Barangay VIII, Poblacion, Vigan City Sur, to serve the communication needs of affected residents in the area.

More Libreng Tawag (Free Call) stations in Abra, Ilocos Sur, Benguet, and other affected areas will be available today, Thursday, July 28.
Globe also deployed a Libreng Tawag (Free Call), Libreng Charging and Libreng WiFi station at the Bangued Plaza in Abra, adjacent to Lagangilang town, epicenter of the 7.0-magnitude temblor.
Affected residents can place free calls and charge their mobile phones at Globe’s free call, charging and connectivity station established in collaboration with the local government of Bangued.
The service will remain available for at least three days.
Furthermore, Globe activated customer care platforms to address concerns from customers in affected areas.
But for the safety of its employees, Globe had to close its stores in Vigan and Candon in Ilocos Sur, San Fernando in La Union, and the Globe Easy Hub in Laoag.
Globe will issue further announcements on the status of these stores as they work to normalize their operations.
