CEBU CITY – Police killed the most wanted person in Toledo City, Cebu in a shootout Wednesday, July 27.
Police identified the suspect as Arnold Abadinas Zabate.
Police Brig. Gen. Roque Eduardo Vega, Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO 7) chief, said Zabate was wanted for murder and said to be involved in gun-for-hire activities.
A warrant of arrest was issued against Zabate by acting Presiding Judge Judilyn Hugot-Tapia-Menchavez of the Regional Trial Court in Toledo City.
Vega said Toledo City police arrived in Zabate’s house in Sitio Casoy, Barangay Gen. Climaco, at around 1 p.m. to serve the arrest warrant.
However, the suspect fired at police, triggering a gunbattle in which he was killed.
