One killed, 39 injured, 86 government infrastructures damaged by earthquake in region 1
DAGUPAN CITY -- One person was reported dead and 39 were injured in Ilocos region after the magnitude 7 earthquake that hit Northern Luzon on Wednesday morning, July 27, according to authorities.

The Ilocos Sur Police Provincial Office said the lone casualty was from Sitio Baudan, Barangay Man-atong, Suyo, Ilocos Sur.
The victim was an 88-year-old female who was caught in a landslide caused by the earthquake.
All the 39 injured were from Ilocos Sur.
According to reports gathered from the office of Area Police Command-Northern Luzon chief Police Lt. Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr, there were 14 municipalities in region 1 without electricity.
About eight are in Ilocos Sur and six in La Union.
Without internet connections are seven municipalities in Ilocos Sur, where three roads are still not passable.
A total of 86 government infrastructures were damaged, including 52 in Ilocos Sur, 18 in La Union, 11 in Pangasinan and five in Ilocos Norte.
About 486 privately-owned infrastructures were partially damaged, while seven were totally damaged.
Meanwhile, in region 2, only one was reported injured, nine government infrastructure and one privately-owned were partially damaged.
In region 3, two government infrastructure and one privately-owned were totally damaged.
