Foreman fatally shoots daughter’s live-in partner over family row in Lucena City


LUCENA CITY, Quezon – A 70-year-old foreman shot the live-in partner of his youngest daughter dead over a family row in Barangay Domoit, this city, Wednesday, July 27.

Police Senior Master Sgt. Wilbar Schramn Apoli, officer-on-case, identified the victim as Marc Erick Fajardo Naval, 45.

The suspect, Leonardo Jaguba, of Garnet St., Stone Gate Subdivision, Barangay Domoit, was arrested by a police team led by Police Staff Sgt. Gilbert Aldovino.

Police investigation showed that the victim and the suspect had an argument at 1:45 p.m. in the presence of other family members in the kitchen of their house.

At the peak of their altercation, the suspect shot the victim with an improvised 12-gauge shotgun or “sumpak.”

The victim sustained bullet wounds in different parts of the body and was declared dead on arrival at the Lucena Doctors Hospital.

Recovered from the suspect was the firearm used in committing the crime.

The police said a murder case was filed before the City Prosecutor’s Office against the suspect.
