BONTOC, Mt. Province - Two were injured, while 11 survived when a large chunk of rock fell on the vehicle they were riding on on Thursday evening, July 28, at Sitio Makutiti, Poblacion, Sadanga, Mt. Province.

It was learned that the said passenger jeep was carrying 13 passengers when it left Bontoc around 6 p.m. for its last trip for the day to the neighboring town of Sadanga.
While the vehicle was crossing the Makutiti Road section, a large chunk of rock fell on the front of the vehicle.
Personnel of the 2nd Company of the Mt. Province Provincial Mobile Force Company and Sadanga Municipal Police Station immediately responded and carefully took the injured victims and brought them to the Sadanga Municipal Health Station for first aid.
The driver was identified as Rogel Peningeo, 39, native of Sabangan, Mt. Province and residing in Poblacion, Sadanga. He sustained minor injuries and is now in stable condition.
The female passenger next to him in the front seat was identified as Shirley Guinoban, 42, a resident of Poblacion, Sadanga who was rushed to the Bontoc General Hospital.
Governor Bonifacio Lacwasan Jr. appealed again to the public to postpone or avoid any travel while the slopes and roads are still unstable due to the aftershocks of the earthquake and the rainy season.
