Choco Mucho woke up from a long stupor as it eked out a 25-21, 25-17, 22-25, 10-25, 16-14 victory over PLDT Thursday to remain in the semifinal race in the Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference at The Arena in San Juan City.

Kat Tolentino returned from a two-game absence by dropping a match-high 27 points including 24 on kills as the Flying Titans nailed their second win in five games that kept them in semis contention.

Choco Mucho would need to hurdle Petro Gazz (1-4) in the elimination round’s final game Saturday to keep its semis hope alive.

The Power Hitters absorbed their second defeat against three wins and would try again against the league-leading Cignal HD Spikers Saturday to snare that elusive semis berth.

The Flying Titans blew a two-set lead but recovered their wits in the fifth and final set to overhaul a 6-2 deficit in completing a dramatic turnaround by riding on Tolentino’s clutch performance.

Isa Molde scattered 11 hits while Bea de Leon and Cherry Nunag each chipped in 10 points.

Pongay Gaston also came alive in the last set and contributed nine points.
