Carson City officials congratulate Parañaque solon

Officials of the City of Carson in California, USA congratulated Parañaque City 1st District Rep. Edwin L. Olivarez on his recent election to the House of Representatives.

Parañaque City and the City of Carson signed a Sister Cities Agreement in 2017 during the tenure of Olivarez as City Mayor, and both have regularly exchanged official visits and regular correspondence since.

“We are deeply honored by the continued support of our friends from the City of Carson, and this inspires us to work harder to give the people of Parañaque City a better quality of life that we can all be proud of,” Rep. Olivarez said.

Mr. Joey Cinco, a native of Parañaque who now lives in the City of Carson, paid Olivarez a courtesy call and presented to him a Certificate of Recognition signed by Carson’s elected officials on Thursday, July 28.

"This recognition symbolizes the enduring friendship and special relations between our cities, and we are proud to continue working with Kuya Edwin Olivarez," said Cinco, who is a member of Carson's Sister Cities committee with Parañaque.

“Thank you for your remarkable leadership and contributions to the people of Parañaque City. Congratulations and best wishes on all future endeavors,” the Certificate, dated July 25, 2022, stated.

The Certificate of Recognition was signed by City of Carson Mayor Lula Davis-Holmes, Mayor Pro Tempore Jawane Hilton of District 1, Council Member Cedric L. Hicks Sr. of District 3, Council Member Jim Dear, and Council Member Arleen Bocatija Rojas of District 4.

The City of Carson is home to a large Filipino community and regularly celebrates Philippine holidays and cultural traditions, including a fiesta and a Sunduan Festival, one of Parañaque City’s signature cultural events.
