South Korea is experiencing another surge of Covid-19 cases due to the Omicron BA.5 subvariant.

On July 27, South Korea recorded 100,285 new Covid-19 cases, up from 99,327 new cases on July 26 to bring the total confirmed cases to 19.44 million since 2020.

SM Entertainment, NCT Dream’s agency, announced on July 27 about Renjun’s condition and decision about the concert “The Dream Show 2: In A Dream” scheduled on July 29 to 31.

“NCT's Renjun was diagnosed with Covid-19 today (27th). Renjun felt symptoms of an abnormal condition today, and the self-diagnosis kit he carried out gave a positive result, so he immediately proceeded with a PCR test and was finally confirmed,” the agency said.

It added that “Renjun has completed his third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine and he immediately stopped all schedules and is self-isolating and receiving treatment at home in accordance with the guidelines of the quarantine authorities.”

“Due to this, NCT DREAM's second solo concert 'THE DREAM SHOW 2-In A DREAM' scheduled for July 29 to 31 has been inevitably canceled,” SM Entertainment said.

It added that “in order to meet the expectations of the fans who have been waiting for the concert, the members and staff have all worked hard to prepare for the concert, but under the current circumstances, it was a decision that was inevitably made, so we ask for your deep understanding.”

“Purchased tickets will be fully refunded, and details will be announced through the place of purchase. We will continue to strictly follow the quarantine guidelines and do our best to focus on treatment and recovery, considering the health and safety of our artists as our top priority,” it said.

With the surge in Covid-19 cases in South Korea, several Korean stars have tested positive.
