Western Visayas cops seize P12.5-M illegal drugs in week-long campaign

ILOILO CITY – Police seized P12.5-million worth of illegal drugs in a week-long campaign in Western Visayas.

A report released by the Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) said 80 suspected drug peddlers were arrested in 58 separate anti-drug operations in the region from July 18 to 24.

“May the arrests of these illegal drug personalities serve as a stern warning to the remaining individuals that still engage in the illegal trade to better stop, otherwise you will end up in jail,” warned Police Brig. Gen. Flynn Dongbo, PRO-6 director.

Bulk of the drugs seized was shabu with a total of 1, 831 grams.

Police Lt. Col. Arnel Solis, PRO-6 spokesperson, said also seized was 533 grams of marijuana.

The biggest haul was in Silay City, Negros Occidental last July 22.

The PRO-6 Regional Drug Enforcement Unit and Silay City Police Station nabbed Razel Agora Gamazan and Lennie Nava Antonio, both from Quezon City, in a buy-bust operation. Found in their possession was least 1,050 grams of shabu worth P7.14 million.
