San Miguel Beer played like a well-oiled machine and dealt Blackwater a 30-point drubbing, 123-93, to advance to the semifinals of the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday, July 27.

The Beermen flexed their might all-game long, breaching the 30-point mark in almost every quarter as six players finished in double figures led by the backcourt duo of Marcio Lassiter and CJ Perez.
“I would congratulate all of the players. They strictly followed what we’re trying to do, yung game plan namin ginawa nila” said Leo Austria while also lauding his players for not falling to the same trap when they narrowly won against Blackwater in the eliminations.
“It’s a different situation right now. That was the elimination and we were at the top of the standings that time and this is quarterfinals, a win is automatic semifinals,” he added
Lassiter led the way in the blazing offensive display for the Beermen, finishing with 18 points spiked by six triples while Perez also contributed an all-around show of 18 points, seven assists and five rebounds.
Jericho Cruz announced his return after missing the last two games with 17 points while June Mar Fajardo added a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds. Vic Manuel and Mo Tautuaa feasted against the narrow frontline of the Bossing with 12 points each.
Chris Ross also had a splendid return, orchestrating the offense for the Beermen with 12 assists.
Ato Ular paced the Blackwater with 15 points and 11 rebounds while Barkley Ebona responded to the challenge of coach Ariel Vanguardia with 12 points and nine rebounds. The efforts however proved to be futile as the Bossing were met with a bitter end to their season with a six-game losing streak after an impressive 5-1 start
