Pasay mayor orders immediate assessment of city hall

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano ordered the immediate structural assessment of the city hall to determine if there was damage after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit Abra and parts of Luzon including Metro Manila on July 27.

A team from the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the City Engineering Office immediately conducted inspection of the interior and exterior of the city hall.

All employees were ordered to vacate their offices. They stayed in front of the city hall as part of the emergency response while the inspection team was conducting assessment. They were instructed to go back to their work at 10 a.m. after it was determined that it was safe.

Rubiano reminded the public to be vigilant for possible aftershocks.
