Parañaque City gov't supports PinasLakas vaccine campaign

The Parañaque City government announced its commitment to support the PinasLakas nationwide booster vaccine campaign against Covid-19.

The PinasLkas campaign is the Marcos administration’s way of boosting the country’s vaccination programs so that progress towards a more health conscious and safer nation is attained.

The PinasLakas was launched on Tuesday (July 26) at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange which was attended by Mayor Eric Olivarez and representatives from the Department of Health (DOH).

Olivarez said the city government is fully committed to the national government’s campaign to further increase the take-up shots of booster against Covid-19.

He said that in support of the PInasLakas campaign, the city government will add more vaccination sites.

The mayor said malls, including barangay centers in all 16 brangays as well as in public schools will be added as vaccination sites.

Olivarez wants children aged 5 to 17 years old be vaccinated against the disease in preparation for the opening of face-to-face classes.

He said the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) recorded 50 new cases, bringing the total to 121 active cases.

The identified communities with the highest number of active cases were BF Homes with 27; San Antonio with 17, San Isidro with 14;Marcelo Green with 13; and Merville with 12.

Olivarez encouraged city residents to participate in the PinasLakas nationwide booster vaccine campaign for their additional protection against the disease.
