Issue with Villanueva is water under the bridge--Padilla

With a handshake, Senator Robinhood "Robin" Padilla has deemed resolved his issue with Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva.

This followed a statement of Padilla that he was not voting for Villanueva when he was nominated to the post of Senate majority leader during the regular session of the Senate on Tuesday, July 26.

"Ngayon, okay na kami (Now, we're okay)," Padilla told reporters on Wednesday morning, July 27.

When asked if he was satisfied with hearing Villanueva's side and if he now considers the issue as water under the bridge, he said, "Opo (Yes).”

He also maintained that there was nothing personal when he said that he did not vote for Villanueva.

"Definitely hindi personal yan. Hindi tayo namemersonal (Definitely it was not personal. I don't get personal)," he said.

Meanwhile, Padilla stressed he will be a team player in the Senate. This includes calling for hearings on bills to be tackled by his Committee on Constitutional Amendments, which he chairs.

”Basta ako, team player ako. Inform nyo lang ako. Sundalo ako eh (I'm a team player. Just tell me what needs to be done. I'm a soldier)," he added.

Padilla also said he would continue to adjust to his work as a lawmaker even as he tries to find ways to make the common Filipino understand the measures being tackled in the Senate.
