The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office told the Manila Bulletin that rescue operations are still ongoing as of 8:00 a.m. but refrained from providing an official victim count.

Movido said that the bridge, locally known as "Tulay na Luma" or "Tulay na Hapon," has long been closed to the public as it is very old.

However, some residents, particularly the youth, often hang out on the bridge despite its compromised structural integrity.
